#Unlock2 0: Markets reopen in NCR, footfall stays low | Noida News

Delhi markets on Day 1 of Unlock 2.0 With markets reopening in Delhi on an odd-even basis earlier this week, shopkeepers remain hopeful that their customers will gradually return. While some say that the reopening of markets on an odd-even basis is a hassle for customers, they hope that markets can fully reopen soon, adding that they’ll continue to follow social distancing and COVID protocols. Delhi Markets wear a deserted look on Day 1 of unlock 2.0 Shopkeepers say the odd-even rule for shops can become a hassle for customers. “I think it confuses customers. If a customer is stepping out amid the pandemic, they want to finish all their work in one go. But with few shops open on a given day, customers have to end up making another visit, which is tiresome for many,” says Mukesh Goyal, a shopkeeper from Khan Market. He adds, “We aren’t letting more than three people enter the shop at once. People with masks are allowed to enter and use of sanitisers is a must.”

None of his family members – his wife and their two children were in a position to cremate it as all of them had tested positive too. Akash Rai, a family friend, said Naveen’s son Bittu (26) was the first to get Covid in the family. “Bittu is in a bad shape and needs immediate hospitalisation. His father expired around 6pm on Monday, but given Bittu’s deteriorating condition and the fact that Naveen’s wife and his daughter Nupur had tested positive as well, there was nobody to take the body for cremation,” he told TOI. Death of a Covid patient has been a double blow for families where all members have tested positive. With no one to perfor

As cops check at border, line of vehicles grows | Noida News

Noida: Strict checking for papers by police led to long queues of vehicles at the Noida-Delhi borders in Chilla and Kalindi Kunj on Friday evening. Now that the UP government has revised curfew timings to 8pm-7am, police have been ensuring that everybody, except those involved in essential services, are back home before the restrictions on movement are imposed. The traffic to Delhi from Noida had, however, thinned by early evening because most people were aware of Delhi government’s decision to impose weekend lockdown, starting Friday night. As barricades were placed a few metres ahead of the Noida entry gate, traffic moved at snail’s pace in a single lane. However, there was no random Covid testing at the borders as announced by the district magistrate recently.
