What you just heard were the whales of a 49yearold samuel shields screaming murder. The video was shot in june of 2014 but his widow released the video to fox 5 after she obtained it from the county. She alleges her husband was beaten to death by correction officers while he suffered a schizophrenic episode. Earlier that day, shields was arrested for getting on a metrobus without paying the fare. In the video, officers repeatedly speak into the camera contending the detainee was combative and refused to put on his jump suit. What you dont see is what happened inside the room. You hear screams, eventually hes pulled up from the room unresponsive. Nearly 30 minutes officers and e m ts perform cpr but ultimately he died. They just beat him.
