A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called out to a person reported to be semi-conscious and coughing blood in the Lake District. The incident on a path near Buckstones Jump, a plunge pool close to Rydal, occurred shortly before midday on Sunday. A Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) spokesman said the male casualty was treated by team members and evacuated by stretcher. The incident required 14 team members for a total of two hours. It was the third call put into the rescue team in the last week. On Friday, LAMRT was called out to Helm Crag, above Grasmere, at around 3pm. A woman with a suspected fractured ankle was evacuated.
