On January 12, 2021, the City Council received a presentation on the City s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. The presentation highlighted how the City of Glendora successfully navigated the unprecedented impacts of COVID-19 and ended the year fiscally strong, by cutting back on many expenses without reducing services to the Community. Many creative solutions were implemented during the pandemic including business assistance loans, rental assistance grants, parklets for local restaurants, waiving of late fees, establishing a virtual City Hall, and implementing significant homeless mitigation efforts. Ending fiscally strong started with the good news of the September 2019 issuance of Pension Obligation Bonds resulting in annual savings of over $1 million ($31 million over 25 years). FAIRFIELD, CT Capt. Robert Kalamaras is poised to become the next police chief in Fairfield after the town s police commission unanimously voted to recommend him for the role.
Kalamaras will replace outgoing Chief Christopher Lyddy, who spent nearly four decades working for the department and the last two years leading it. SALEM, MA The Salem-based Voices Against Injustice honored Cosecha Massachusetts with its 2021 Salem Award for Human Rights and Social Justice for the group s efforts to provide financial assistance and advocate for driver s licenses for documented and undocumented immigrants during the coronavirus health crisis.
Cosecha MA was honored for mobilizing efforts throughout the state to push for legislation, providing mutual aid in the form of direct financial assistance for more than 500 families left out of relief efforts and supplying food and resources for more than 1,000 immigrant families across the state.

The Minnesota Vikings will be searching for pass-rushing assistance in the next few months. Those assets may be cultivated within (D.J. Wonnum, Ifeadi Odenigbo), but that will be considered the least desirable option. Minnesota could add a somewhat affordable free agent like Ryan Kerrigan, Everson Griffen, or Denico Autry. The pay scale for those three men would probably slide with Kerrigan as the most expensive. Alternatively, the Vikings could spend their first-round draft pick on a rookie EDGE rusher. The hypothetical first-year pass-rusher would likely start in that scenario.
