DSA case filed against Nur in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 21, 2021 (BSS)- Nurul Haque Nur, former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) has been sued under Digital Security Act (DSA) in Rajshahi for provocative remarks and hurting the religious sentiments through a Facebook live show.
Nibaran Chandra Borman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station, told BSS that Rajshahi City Unit Joint Secretary of Juba League Towrid Al Masud Rony filed the case against Nur with the police station today.
In the case, Masud Rony alleged that Nur had hurt religious values and sentiments of many religious leaders, government and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and tried to destroy communal harmony through offensive, fabricated and misleading information through social media.

Former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur has been sued in another case for hurting religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters and defaming the party with his derogatory comments.
One Elias Hossain filed the case with Paltan Police Station last night under the Digital Security Act for Nur s comments during a Facebook live session on April 14, Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of the police Station, told The Daily Star.
Police sources said the complainant is a member of Awami League.

Former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur early today apologised for his statement on Facebook live after at least two Digital Security Act cases were filed against him on charge of hurting the religious sentiment of Awami League activists and supporters.
He took to Facebook live again today around 12:00am and spoke for an hour on different issues, including his comment where he allegedly said Awami League men are not real Muslims .

Two more cases have been filed against former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur for hurting religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters and defaming the party.

In the case statement, Elias said Nur hurt the religious sentiments of AL activists and supporters by calling them fake Muslims .
