Chinese worker’s death: Wife files murder complaint against colleague in Sylhet
Two days after a Chinese national was allegedly stabbed to death in Sylhet, her wife has lodged a police complaint formally accusing his colleague of the crime.
Wang Qiu, the wife of Wei Wentao, filed the complaint at Sylhet Kotwali Police Station against her husband’s colleague Sun Xion, also a Chinese national, in the morning, a day after arriving here from China.
Wei, 40, was allegedly stabbed to death by Sun, 48, in the Pathantula area of Sylhet on Tuesday after an argument between them turned violent. Both the victim and the accused worked at a power plant in Kumargaon.
Chinese engineer killed in Sylhet by compatriot
A Chinese engineer was stabbed to death by his compatriot colleague at their rented house in Sylhet on Tuesday morning.
The deceased is Wentao Wei, 48, an engineer of Kumargaon Power Plant in the divisional city, police said.
The police said that 12 Chinese nationals, all of who are electrical engineer and employed at the KPP, have been living at a rented flat on the fourth floor of House 11/9 in Block B of Pashchim Pathantula Residential Area of Sylhet city.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner BM Ashraf Ullah Taher said that Wei and Chao, 34, were in their flat in the morning when their other colleagues left it for their workplace.

Two more cases have been filed against former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur for hurting religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters and defaming the party.
One Elias Hossain lodged the case with Paltan Police Station Sunday night under the Digital Security Act for Nur s comments during a Facebook live session on April 14, Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of the police station, told The Daily Star. We are investigating the case, he said.
In the case statement, Elias said Nur hurt the religious sentiments of AL activists and supporters by calling them fake Muslims .
