Johnson, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Lady Beaver softball team returned to the field for the first time in a week on Friday, as they made the trip to Stanton County to face the Trojans. They would come up with a pair of big wins, as they won the first game 21-2, and finished the day off with a 27-10 victory.
In game one, Stanton County jumped out early 2-0 after an inning, only to see the Lady Beavers hang 12 runs in the second inning to lead 12-2. Scott City added four runs in the third and got five in the fourth to win 21-2 in four innings. Cheyenne Cramer gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits with seven strikeouts in four innings of work. Rhiley Stoppel had three hits and drove in seven runs. Two of her hits were home runs, including a grand slam. PJ Suppes drove in five runs and had three hits, as the Lady Beavers finished with 19 hits in the first game.

(westernkansasnews.com)–For the second time this week, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team would hit the road for a GWAC doubleheader, as they faced the Cimarron Bluejays for the first time in school history. It would be a big day for the Lady Beavers, as they were able to pick up a road sweep with wins of 14-9 and 9-7.
In their first game, Scott City led 2-0 after the first inning, only to see the Lady Bluejays pull to within 2-0 after two innings. Following a scoreless third, the teams would trade runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Beavers opened the game up with a run in the fifth, four in the sixth, and sixth in the seventh inning to go up 14-2. Cimarron made a furious rally with a seven-run seventh inning, but fell short 14-9. (westernkansasnews.com)–Coming off a 10-day layoff, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team returned to the diamond Friday afternoon to face the Southwestern Heights Lady Mustangs in non-league play. The Lady Beavers would take care of business in both games, coming away with wins of 15-0 and 18-2 in a pair of contests that did not make it past the sixth inning.

Southwestern Heights would collect two hits to start things off, but would come empty handed in their first at bat. Scott City was consistent in their scoring, putting up five runs in the three innings of play. The Lady Beavers got things going with a bang, as Hannah Tucker hit a two-run home run to get the scoring started. Cheyenne Cramer, and Makayala Miller would drive in runs in the opening inning. With only two games under their belts, and only one senior combined on the field, the youthful teams played a pair of well-contested games in a battle of 2-0 teams. Scott City would pick up the sweep, as they pulled away for a 10-3 victory in game one, but squeaked out a 4-3 win over the Lady Longhorns in the finale.

The first game of the afternoon would be a tight one early, but the Lady Beavers would pull way in the late stages. Holcomb scored the first run in the top of the first on an Emma Cornelson run after a dropped third strike, and Scott City responded with a run to tie the game after Amber Latta scored on a passed ball.
