(westernkansasnews.com)–For the second time this week, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team would hit the road for a GWAC doubleheader, as they faced the Cimarron Bluejays for the first time in school history. It would be a big day for the Lady Beavers, as they were able to pick up a road sweep with wins of 14-9 and 9-7.
In their first game, Scott City led 2-0 after the first inning, only to see the Lady Bluejays pull to within 2-0 after two innings. Following a scoreless third, the teams would trade runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Beavers opened the game up with a run in the fifth, four in the sixth, and sixth in the seventh inning to go up 14-2. Cimarron made a furious rally with a seven-run seventh inning, but fell short 14-9.
