Time For Lunch | Heritage Radio Network

Time For Lunch Time For Lunch is a place to learn about eating, cooking, enjoying and sometimes playing with your food. Each episode will cover a new subject; taking a close look at one item, or ingredient, that might be found at the lunch table. Listeners are invited to participate, sharing jokes on-air or following along with in-episode quizzes and games. Hosted by Harry Rosenblum and Hannah Fordin, the show looks at food through the lens of history, culture, and play to celebrate and learn about the people and places that feed us. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.BROWSE EPISODES

About HRN | Heritage Radio Network

Heritage Radio Network (HRN) is a nonprofit podcast network dedicated to creating a more equitable, sustainable, and delicious world by expanding the way eaters think about food. We do this through creative, educational reporting and storytelling. Founded in 2009 by Patrick Martins and inspired by the Slow Food Movement, since its inception HRN has been a platform for thought-provoking conversations about the real issues affecting the global food supply. There are many stories that never reach mainstream food media and that’s where HRN is different: our listeners hear from voices across the food chain– farmers, truckers, chefs, cheesemakers, cookbook authors, activists and more!

How Can Restaurants Support Staff Mental Health? | Heritage Radio Network

Episode 28 How Can Restaurants Support Staff Mental Health? Aired: Wednesday, February 24th 2021 SHARE HOSTED BY Heritage Radio Network At a time when many people are struggling with their psychological well-being, we’re taking a close look at the structural and cultural issues that make restaurant workers especially vulnerable.  Producer Hannah Fordin starts with the big picture, in conversation with Hassel Aviles co-founder of Not 9 To 5. They look at the restaurant industry and the ways deeply ingrained hierarchies and structures, as well as widely accepted destructive coping methods, need to shift. Then we zoom in, seeking advice from experts like co-hosts of HRN’s Processing, Zahra Tangorra and Bobbie Comforto, as well as Restaurant After Hours’ Zia Sheikh, on how we as individuals can tend to our psychological well-being and what sort of support is out there.
