Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2021 STRIVING to become sustainable is a goal of almost every business these days. The Sustainable Business award sponsored by Winchester University will be given to a business that has demonstrated how they have reduced the impact of their business on the environment. They must meet two or more of the following criteria: green product innovation; emission of greenhouse gases; energy consumption; water consumption; production of waste and improving recycling rates; sustainable supply chain and procurement; transport impact of their goods or services; staff development; and training on environmental impact. Professor Martin Broad, Dean, Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies at Winchester University said: We are proud to sponsor the Sustainable Business Award again in 2021 to celebrate successful businesses through the lens of sustainability.
MORE than a thousand anglers are set to descend on Hampshire this summer as part of a new international fishing competition. The Sea Angling Classic, a photograph, catch and release event is set to be a competition “like no other”, say organisers. The event, which will be held annually in The Solent from next summer, will offer “the largest and most valuable prize table ever offered in sea fishing”, they add. But, a special media event will be held this July, to introduce the full competition. It is expected to reel in 400 boats and an estimated 1,200 anglers to the county.
