This week, the Marian Mustangs avenged the loss to Mercy on its way to winning the CHSL Tournament on Thursday. That was then followed up on Saturday by winning the 2023 Beast Of The East Tournament, a 32-team field including 14 teams that are currently ranked or honorable mention in the MIVCA rankings.
On Wednesday, the seventh-ranked Marlins got their chance to prove it and prove it on the 10th-ranked Mustangs’ home floor. Mercy did just that, earning a 25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21 victory to create a three-way tie atop the CHSL standings.
