The African Action Congress has called on the people of Lagos State to vote for the party in the Saturday’s governorship/House of Assembly elections. Ayoyinka Oni, AAC Chairman in Lagos disclosed this in a statement. Oni said that the party’s vision, if voted for, was to bring a better Lagos where righteousness, harmony and prosperity shall reign. He also promised justice for those killed by soldiers during the #EndSARS protest in the state.
The governorship candidates of the African Action Congress have vowed to work for the party’s presidential flagbearer, Omoyele Sowore and his running mate, Haruna Garba Magashi in February’s election. According to the governorship candidates in a statement, obtained by SaharaReporters on Friday, the so-called big parties have caused a lot of suffering for Nigerians. They added that only Sowore and AAC can take Nigerians to the promised land.
The governorship candidates expelled by the African Action Congress plan to hold a meeting with Festus Keyamo, spokesperson for the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC-PCC) on Wednesday, SaharaReporters has learnt. SaharaReporters learnt the estranged AAC candidates plan to meet with Keyamo to sell their loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Four governorship candidates under the African Action Congress (AAC) have appealed to the party to reinstate their colleagues who were suspended over allegations of misconduct. The party had suspended four of its governorship candidates who are; Iboro Otu, Akwa Ibom; Ray Kene, Enugu; Ahmed Aliyu, Kwara and Dr. David Joel Charima, Taraba. The concerned state chapters of the AAC had expelled them after they refused to answer a query issued to them within the stipulated period, deemed an “insubordination” to the party’s constitution and punishable under the same law.
The African Action Congress (AAC) has rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) insistence on using the Lagos State Parks Management led by Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, who is a popularly known loyalist of the Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
