After Noodle Tree Vandalized, San Antonians Show Up To Support The Restaurant
Published: March 15, 2021
The Noodle Tree restaurant on UTSA Boulevard was vandalized yesterday, Sunday, March 14. Pictures of the incident showed the store’s front doors, windows and outdoor benches marked with racist and hateful slurs in red paint. “Go back 2 China,” one message read. “Ramen Noodle Flu,” said another.
Mike Nguyen, the chef and owner of the Noodle Tree, was interviewed on CNN last Wednesday, March 10, the day Governor Abbott’s executive order lifting the statewide mask mandate went into effect.
Nguyen stated during the interview and elaborated on the Noodle Tree Instagram page how strongly he felt against the mandate being lifted, due to his own lymphoma diagnosis and the safety of his employees and customers.
