Arafat 2023 Live: More than two million Muslims from around the world represnting different ethnicities, culture and colour are marching towards the Plains of Arafat for the key ritual of the annual Hajj – one of the five pillars of Islam, exhibiting the most unifying chraceristic of Islam.
Saudi Arabia had launched "Makkah Road Initiative" back in 2018. The initiative was tweaked and renamed as "Makkah Route Initiative" with a re-launch in 2019.
Apart from the 145 women pilgrims travelling in the plane, the pilot who flew this plane and the other crew members of the plane, as well as the dispatch, flight operation, loading, cleaning, engineering, ground service and other related activities at all levels were done by women, making this trip different.
