Unhappy with verdict, Hagrama Mohilary calls Floor Tests incomplete
Former Chief Hagrama Mohilary says that the BTC Floor Tests were not held as per Gauhati High Court regulations, Verdict to be challenged in Court.

Kokrajhar: After facing defeat at the composite floor test at the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Kokrajhar, former Chief Hagrama Mohilary said that he will contest today s verdict in Court. Claiming that the proceedings for the test were incomplete, he complained that no proceedings in the floor test recently conducted adhered to the directions issued by the Gauhati High Court. Earlier the Gauhati High Court had issued its guidelines for conducting a composite floor test in the BTC after Mohilary had submitted a writ petition himself.

Kokrajhar: In a big blow to Bodoland People s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary, the BJP-UPPL-GSP combine won the composite floor test in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). Promod Boro, the recently elected Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC managed to sail through the floor test as he got the full support of all the 22 members of the just-formed Council.
Soon after winning the trust vote, Promod Boro who is the UPPL president said, The UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance will work for the peace and prosperity of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

GUWAHATI: Bodoland Territorial Council’s (BTC) newly appointed chief executive member Pramod Boro on Wednesday said he has more than the required numbers to prove his majority in the composite floor test to be held on Thursday under orders from the Gauhati High Court.
Boro, leader of UPPL which has allied with BJP and GSP, rejected his predecessor Hagrama Mohilary’s appeal on Tuesday for re-unification of all regional parties to take charge of the council and keep national parties like BJP away from it.

GUWAHATI: The Composite Floor Test to elect the new CEM (Chief Executive Member) of the Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) will be held in Kokrajhar on Thursday. With this, the fate of Pramod Boro will be decided. Boro had taken oath as the CEM of BTC in Kokrajhar on December 15.
The development follows after the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday ordered the Composite Floor Test on or before December 26, 2020. The Court issued this direction after hearing the writ petition filed by former BTC CEM Hagrama Mohilary and others challenging the appointments of Pramod Boro as the new CEM, Gobinda Basumatary as the Deputy CEM and four other Executive Members (EMs) by the Governor of Assam on December 13 and 14 last respectively.
