Deputies were in the middle of a violent pursuit of a man fleeing police, and Adrian Cruz alleges he was attacked and detained when he was suddenly caught in the middle of it.
Johnny Anchondo, 33, of Moreno Valley was on parole for attempted carjacking and evading police when he fled police last week, prosecutors said. He faces 18 felony and seven misdemeanor counts.
The police chase that occurred Wednesday across L.A. and Orange counties was one for the ages as the suspect took other people's vehicles, hit cars and rammed into police cruisers.
