Shortly after a stunning claim by Hindu petitioners that a "Shivling" had been found in a pond at the Gyanvapi Masjid complex in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, a court today ordered it closed off to the public.
The survey was stalled last week amid objections by the mosque committee, which claimed that the advocate commissioner appointed by the court for the survey did not have the mandate to film inside the premises.
Amid the row over the survey of Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are trying to rekindle the era of hatred as the one in the 1990s.
