Puran Poli: The filling in this sweet flat bread is prepared with chana dal and grated jaggery and is flavoured with saffron and loads of ghee (tup in Marathi). Goes best with katachi amti, ghee, curd or milk. It is usually prepared during festivals like Makar Sankranti, Gudi Padwa, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Holi.
Ukadiche Modak: This traditional sweet is at the centre of Ganesh Chaturthi. These are steamed rice flour dumplings filled with jaggery and grated coconut. Ukadiche modak is consumed with hot ghee.
