Two winters ago, Northeastern head baseball coach Mike Glavine held out hope that his program’s most famous active alum would sign with the Red Sox and end up pitching just a few blocks from campus. Two years later, Glavine got his wish when the Yankees unexpectedly traded Adam Ottavino to Boston on Monday.
Jahmai Webster replaces Guerin Austin as NESN Boston Red Sox full-time sideline reporter

Jahmai Webster will be the full-time sideline reporter for Boston Red Sox broadcasts with Guerin Austin no longer at NESN.
Webster filled in occasionally for Austin from 2017-20. NESN hired him in October 2016. He previously worked at KMGH-Denver7 in Denver and KITV 4 News in Honolulu.
Webster will join play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien and analysts Jerry Remy and Dennis Eckersley on the broadcast.

Boston Red Sox sideline reporter Guerin Austin is leaving NESN.
“The past 6 years have been amazing. Thank you. So excited for the next chapter...” she tweeted along with several photos from her time at NESN.

Finn reported that Austin’s contract recently expired and the two sides parted ways. Dave O’Brien, Jerry Remy, Dennis Eckersley and Jahmai Webster will be the Red Sox’s 2021 broadcast team, Finn noted.
