Allegations have mounted, franken has tried to apologize to his accusers. He has said that he would work with the ethics committee. He said he would try to regain the trust of his minnesota voters. In the end, though, following the resignation earlier this week of democratic congressman john conyers fellow democrats one by one came out in force this week urging franken to resign.
