Private hospitals not under AB-PMJAY, CGHS, State Insurance Schemes can be utilised as COVID vaccination centres

New Delhi [India], March 2 (ANI): Private hospitals not under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and State Insurance Schemes can be utilised as COVID vaccination centres (CVCs), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

All private hospitals can operate as Covid-19 vaccination centres: Centre tells States India Updated: Tuesday, March 2, 2021, 22:49 [IST] New Delhi, Mar 02: The Centre has directed the states to utilise private hospitals that are not empanelled under any central or state government health scheme to operate as COVID Vaccination Centre (CVCs) subject to them mandatorily adhering to some specific norms. Representational Image Private hospitals not empanelled under the above mentioned three categories have also been permitted to operate as COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs).States/UTs can proactively make efforts to use these private hospitals as CVCs, the Union Health Ministry said. In addition to all the government health facilities, all private hospitals empanelled under the CGHS, the AB-PMJAY and the state health insurance schemes can function as CVCs, subject to them mandatorily adhering to certain norms, the statement said.

These include 67,32,944 HCWs who have taken the 1st dose and 26,85,665 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 55,47,426FLWs (first dose), 828 FLWs (second dose), 4,34,981 beneficiaries more than 60 years old and 60,020 beneficiaries aged 45 and above with specific co-morbidities.
