Hyzon Motors to supply up to 1,500 fuel-cell heavy-duty trucks to Hiringa Energy in New Zealand
Hyzon Motors Inc. and New Zealand’s Hiringa Energy signed a vehicle supply agreement, with Hyzon commissioned to build and supply Hiringa with zero-emission Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV). (Earlier post.)
The hydrogen fuel cell-powered trucks, to be assembled at Hyzon’s facility in Winschoten, The Netherlands, will be manufactured in full compliance with local New Zealand requirements and the first batch of vehicles are expected to enter service in New Zealand by the end of 2021. Hyzon plans to have up to 1,500 fuel cell trucks on the road in New Zealand by 2026 as part of the agreement with Hiringa.

Hyzon Motors will deliver 1,500 hydrogen-powered heavy trucks in New Zealand by 2026 – and the first batch could be on the roads by the end of 2021.
The fuel cell truck maker will deliver the zero emission heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) as part of a new deal announced on Wednesday (17
th Feb) with Hiringa Energy, the green hydrogen supplier aiming to establish 100+ hydrogen stations in New Zealand by 2030.
Together, Hyzon and Hiringa will navigate an ambitious path towards decarbonising the New Zealand heavy transport sector through cooperation on hydrogen infrastructure and heavy-duty fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) deployment.
