Multiple drug charges filed out of Granite City

EDWARDSVILLE Multiple drug-related charges from Granite City ranging from delivery of cannabis to unlawful possession of methamphetamine and other controlled substances were filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office Wednesday.
Akai J. Aikens, 37, of Centerville, was charged March 10 with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony.
According to court documents, on Feb. 5 Aikens allegedly was found to be in possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver. Bail was set at $15,000.
In a separate case, Domanick G. Tripp, 41, of Granite City, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis 100-500 grams, a Class 4 felony.
Mobile home park owner charged with writing bad check to sheriff s department

EDWARDSVILLE The owner of a Granite City mobile home park was charged Wednesday with allegedly paying the Madison County Sheriff’s Department with a bad check.
Mohammad K. Jalali, 40, of St. Louis, was charged Feb. 24 with deceptive practices, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, Jalali, the owner of Lakeshore Estates Mobile Home Park in the 3100 block of West Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City, on Aug. 21 presented a check for $608 to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department drawn on a Bank of America account “knowing said checks would not be paid by the depository.”
