At least two people are dead following an Apartment Fire in oakland. The fire started just before 4 00 inside a large building that used to be a warehouse on 24th street. This location is very close to interstate 980. Flames quickly spread to an aja adjacent building at around 3 40 this morning. Both buildings share an attic. Fire Officials Say the flames forced more than 30 people from their homes. No word yet on how the fire started. A former San Francisco firefighter will not be facing any drunk driving charges after an on duty crash that nearly killed a motorcyclist. We have seen investigators tonight focused on the area. There are officers from both the vulayho Police Department and the District Attorneys Office out here. Just this started before 6 00 p. M. Investigators confirming police were called out for a report of a man wielding a knife at this shopping center. Police tell us when they got here the suspect was still armed with a knife. They say there was a verbal exchange before at least one officer opened fire. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
