Five-storey building approved by county council
County council approved a new five-storey apartment building in Woodstock’s north end by granting a needed official plan amendment.

The multi-residential building at 245 Drew St. – previously supported by Woodstock council – will offer 78 units.
The London-based Southside Group, which owns the 0.55-hectare property, had earlier requested a zone change to allow for high-density use, in addition to the official plan amendment.
The apartment building will be geared towards market rent, Dave Hannam, the project’s representative, said.

There were a 18 new cases and 15 recoveries in the Oxford and Elgin counties region, Southwestern public health reported Thursday, bumping the number of active cases to 120.

Oxford County’s nine top municipal officials are planning to sit down in the near future to develop a plan to introduce some of the recommendations made during an ongoing service delivery review.
Despite some recent friction between Oxford’s rural and urban jurisdictions, the two Toronto-based consultants guiding the service delivery review noted that many of the county’s municipalities shared the same priorities. After meeting individually and hosting workshops with Oxford’s different municipal council, both consultants were struck by this sense of unanimity between the different groups, said John Matheson, a principal with Strategy Corp.
