The Batavia Township Planning Commission will hear a request Monday night for a Special Use Permit to build a 20-megawatt solar farm off M-86.
Bruce Bloom agreed to lease just over 193 acres to Greenstone Solar, LLC. About 105 acres would be used for the solar cells.
Plans presented called for the solar farm at the northwest corner of Snow Prairie Road and M-86, just west of the township hall.
The Planning Commission rejected the first permit application because the parcel numbers included property south of M-86 which was not referenced in the application.
Zoning Administrator Walt Smith said the firm presented a contract from Consumers Energy to purchase the output from the solar cells.
