Man arrested under suspicion of attempted murder after gas cannister explodes on Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe

REGIONAL Pewsey Road in Westhoughton (Picture: Google Maps) A MAN has been arrested under suspicion of attempted murder after a gas canister exploded inside a home in Wythenshawe. Police were called around 12.20am today to a property on Pewsey Road following a report of the sound of an explosion. Emergency services attended and enquiries established a gas canister inside the property had caused an explosion, resulting in significant damage to the walls and windows within the property. A woman and a girl, aged 32 and 11, were taken to hospital as a precaution. No other injuries have been reported. A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
