Less than two days after a derailment in ontario, canada caused crude oil to burn. The incidents are being watched closely by cities and environmentalists fighting a proposal by phillips 66. These crude trains go through the San Francisco bay watershed, through the mountains, near significant Drinking Water sources for communities all across the state. The group says the explosive pictures show a derailment can be more than just cars tipping over. Berkeley is sending a letter to the department of transportation demanding stricter safety regulations. The blast zone is a half a mile from the railroad tracks. That in berkeley means that its also in our watershed. A group led by a councilman sent a letter to San Luis Obispo officials to plan a Community Meeting in midmarch for people who live along the south bay rail line. Authorities say a 50foot fishing vessel ran on to the rocks near the ritz carlton near miramonte point. There was only one person on board but hes refusing to get off the boat. That man tells the coast guard he plans to have his friends rescue him and will remove the boat from the rocks sometime in morning. Also this morning Oakland Police looking for the person responsible for a fatal hitandrun accident involving three vehicles. The crash happened last night at 14th and adeline.
