A Mahadevapura Task Force member pointed out that the skywalk built through a PPP model is strategically constructed to connect metro commuters seamlessly to Seetharampalya Metro Station. The project aims to alleviate the challenges faced by pedestrians navigating the busy road, offering a safer and more convenient passage to their destination.
In February 2023, the Directorate of Urban Land Transport installed a 1.5-km long unidirectional cycle lane demarcated with new lane separators on either side between Graphite India Junction to Kundalahalli metro station.
Members of the Mahadevpura Task Force revealed that there are no funds allocated for development projects in 2023-2024, and only road repair works are currently underway. Localities like Varthur Main Road in Thubrahalli and Graphite India Main Road near Anjeneya Temple Junction are being repaired as part of the Defect Liability Period (DLP).
Construction work started three months ago, and the first stage is completed. The second part of the work is currently in progress and is expected to be completed soon. The skywalk will not resemble the straight platforms of traditional skywalks. It will instead have a ‘boomerang’ concept.
