Hermine made landfall this morning in northern florida as a hurricane, the first to hit that state since 2005. A man was killed by a fallen tree. Tonight, hermine is a tropical storm, churning up the coast with torrential rain, damaging wind and dangerous seas. We have a team on hermines trail, beginning with Omar Villafranca in port richey, florida. Reporter hurricane hermine barreled into the Sunshine State around 2 00 a. M. This morning. The deadly storm flooded entire neighborhoods. Wind gusts of up to 80 Miles Per Hour snapped trees, one of which fell on top of a homeless man, killing him. Heading into the evening hours. This morning, Winter Weather advisory through 10 00 a. M. As we look at the radar, you will see most places right now just plain old cloudy. We picking up on a couple of flurries here and there and a little catchy, freezing drizzle. That could cause an additional slick spot this morning. Generally, the road crews did a great job of playing this primary roads and highways overnight. Looking at the wide view, snow lifting to the north. Looking to the south, you can see rain showers starting to slowly push their way into southern kentucky. We are expecting cold rain into the evening hours. Right now, temperatures generally in the mid20 s, about 25 degrees. Watch out for slick roads snowcovered areas. Lunchtime, cloudy, about 36 and 37 for the high in the afternoon. 6 00 p.
