AGAWAM High school students appear to be responsible for computer attacks that shut down remote learning and internet access at Agawam schools for several days over the past two weeks.
Mayor William P. Sapelli confirmed on Thursday that school staff had identified one teenager as a primary suspect. The high school student admitted responsibility, and the investigation has been turned over to the Police Department, he said.
GREEN RIVER Students from the Granger School got a special guided tour of the Sweetwater County Historical Museum on Wednesday.
The tour included exhibits on prehistoric life in Sweetwater County, Native Americans, the mountain men, frontier-era emigrants, ranching, mining, and the railroad.
Of particular interest to the group was Overland Stage Trail exhibit, as Granger is home to the Granger Station State Historic Site, a Wyoming state park dedicated to the Overland Trail and the Pony Express.

AGAWAM In the midst of a pandemic defined by remote learning and online activities, elementary school teacher Tammy Rumplik didn’t let computers get in the way of her science fairs and hands-on projects.
That’s part of why Rumplik, the science specialist at Clark School in Agawam and Granger School in Feeding Hills, was recently named a Conservation Teacher of the Year by MassAudubon.
“Science is truly her passion, and it’s something she’s passionate about passing along to her students,” said Stephanie Gendron, the principal at Granger. “She packs as much into each lesson as she possibly can. … You can definitely tell, with everything extra she’s done, especially this year. I don’t think you could ask more of someone.”
More than 90 students will be redistricted into new elementary schools next year, part of an effort to equalize enrollment at the four schools. Parents with questions are invited to an online town hall meeting on Tuesday.
