having meetings in dublin is like having meetings in washington and staying in asbury park, new jersey. it is 180 miles away. it makes no sense. we want to see what s behind it. what s behind it is irrelevant. the president does not have the power under the clause to collect other payments from the united states government beyond his salary. he s limited to his salary. that s what the constitution says. so when they go down to mar-a-lago and spend $80,000, $100,000 a day for the fbi and the secret service and the white house people to stay there and they give that money to the trump hotel, it violates the constitution. and even the congress cannot excuse that. in terms of the emollients we have the power to approve all of these government payments the president has been pocketsing from saudi arabia, united arab emirates. we could do that. he is in violation of the
couple of weeks, you are going to continue to see sound bite after sound bite after sound bite of federal employees who can t buy groceries, who can t buy diapers, who can t pay their electricity bill. the wife of a coast guardsman said our rainy day fund ain t going to last that long. do republicans win by keep saying no border wall funding, no government payments? look, i think government workers who are largely democrats ought to consult with their democrat representatives and tell them, agree to what the president promised. agree to border security. agree to defending the country. and no daca amnesty. if you are an illegal alien, go home. there s my compromise. obey the law. leland: i think we just heard what the activists on both sides think of compromise on this. we will see if washington can compromise. they can compromise and agree to spend more money. that happens all the time. thanks a lot. kristin? kristin: still ahead, the
scrutinized and now the democrats have the power and the leverage to be able to do it. so bakari, let s look at sort of the top not the top ten, but the greatest hits of democratic targets here. you ve got nancy pelosi, talking about going after the president s tax returns. long been an issue here. you have congressman adam schiff talking about looking in the money laundering, particularly if russians were laundering through the trump organization. and then elijah cummings talking about what s known as emoluments, foreign government payments that may benefit president trump and his businesses. you re plotting democratic strategy here. what do you prioritize? oh, none of those. i prioritize fixing the affordable care act, making sure everyone has access to quality health care. i prioritize an infrastructure bill, making sure we put people to work and rebuild our roads and bridges and lower fair pharmaceutical costs. so i prioritize the american public, first and foremost.
