The last of the four Women’s Grand Prix tournaments in the 2022-23 series begins on Tuesday, with Aleksandra Goryachkina the rating favourite. Zhu Jiner is leading the overall GP standings. However, the Chinese WGM has already participated in three tournaments, and thus will not be playing in Nicosia.
New Delhi, April 6: The FIDE Women s Grand Prix 2022-23 in New Delhi came to a dramatic conclusion with the top three players finishing on the same points. However, Aleksandra Goryachkina sealed the top spot due to a better tie-breaker score.
The second game of the Women’s Candidates semifinal in Khiva between Aleksandra Goryachkina and Tan Zhongyi ended in a draw. As in game one, the Queen’s Gambit Declined appeared on the board, this time with Tan Zhongyi marshalling the white pieces.
