County Fire Warden Discusses Controlled Burns and Bonfires – Sheridan Media

Controlled Burns At approximately 4:30 Sunday afternoon, Goose Valley Fire responded to a report of a controlled burn out of control in the vicinity of Big Goose Road in Sheridan. Soon after Goose Valley Fire arrived on scene, the fire quickly grew in size due to dry conditions and a sudden change in the wind. Additional resources were requested from Sheridan Fire Rescue and Tongue River Fire, and the fire was contained by nightfall. Juvenile rescued, cited for trespass at Acme plant – Sheridan Media

A 15-year-old youth was rescued and cited for trespass at the Acme Power Plant this week. (Courtesy photo) A 15-year-old male was rescued and he and four other juveniles cited for trespassing after the youth fell down a coal chute at the old Acme Power Plant this week. The incident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Volunteers from the Tongue River Fire Department, along with Goose Valley Fire, Sheridan Fire and Rescue and Sheridan Search and Rescue, were called to the scene after the youth fell about 35 to 40 feet to the bottom of the chute inside the building and became trapped.
