A Resolution to expand the Tongue River Fire District was considered by the Sheridan County Commission.
County Assessor Paul Fall spoke to the commission about the resolution during their last regular meeting.

Controlled Burns
At approximately 4:30 Sunday afternoon, Goose Valley Fire responded to a report of a controlled burn out of control in the vicinity of Big Goose Road in Sheridan. Soon after Goose Valley Fire arrived on scene, the fire quickly grew in size due to dry conditions and a sudden change in the wind. Additional resources were requested from Sheridan Fire Rescue and Tongue River Fire, and the fire was contained by nightfall. Sheridan County Fire Warden Chris Thomas reminds residents to notify dispatch when you conduct a controlled burn or any kind of bonfire activities.
