harder for ice to do its job. rob: house republicans demand a vote on immigration which could have a major effect on a farm bill. todd pyro joins us to break this down. reporter: everything seems to be connected. another shot fired in the battle with things where he states and jerry brown signs a bill to prevent ice agents from nabbing illegals at courthouses. this would give judges and attorneys from disclosing the immigration status of alleged crime victims and witnesses in open court unless the information is ruled relevant to the case. keep in mind ice focuses on courthouses because of its inability to detain illegals in local jail thanks to law enforcement agencies that refuse to comply with retainer requests. this as the immigration debate take center stage on capitol hill today. the federal farm bill is up for a vote in a few hours but the house freedom caucus says it is

democrats we had one on earlier, seizing on the opportunity pointing to the timing of the attorney general s announcement this morning saying this say white house that s not taken action on immigration. a congress that it s inaction on the part of congress. how do you respond to that? i think our friends on the democratic side of the aisle have had an invitation for quite a while to join us at the table. the president laid out what he was willing to do. we in the house have laid forth our bill, the goodlatte-mccall bill and said this is where we are and what we d like to pass and quite frankly, i think a lot of us are ready to go to the floor today and pass the goodlatte mccall bill and send it to the senate so secure the southern border, end chain migration and end the diversity lottery and get the wall built
it out, there s nothing in the c.r. that democrats on post. pose. what they oppose, which is daca, the white house tried to outline, there s not a daca deal to be attached to the bill. to the bill. even if they want it, one doesn t exist. it s not ready. that s why i think we re seeing the ta, you about not the four week c.r. but maybe a few days to buy time to get immigration deal. shannon: it s not new that a minority party wants to use, something that has to get passed, whether it s funding the government or another major measure more popular, to leverage it to try to get something that they want. not unusual that even though the funding bill and the funding fight has nothing to do with immigration that they would say, well, listen the country needs this, republicans need this, they won t meet us half way, we have to leverage this. and i think republicans have offered them solutions in the c.r. like a six-year funding for the chip program, which provides health insurance for c
