According to reports, the online session will be part of the webinar on Union Budget 2021-22 announcements. The webinar will begin with an inaugural session on ‘Harnessing Education, Research and Skill Development for an Atmanirbhar Bharat’ which will be addressed by the Prime Minister.

PM Modi said, India is among the world s top 50 innovative countries in the Global Innovation Index and is doing better continuously. With the sustained promotion of higher education, research and innovation, new opportunities for our students and young scientists are developing very much. And the good thing is that there is satisfactory growth in the participation of daughters in R&D.
Budget 2021: Scientific social responsibility policy to be announced in coming months Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan said there has been a 30 percent increase in the budget for these ministries. The Department of Biotechnology is developing a Biomass to Hydrogen Mission which will be important from the research and development perspective.
The government is likely to come up with a policy on scientific social responsibility in the next two months, Department of Science and Technology Secretary Ashutosh Sharma said on Monday. Scientific social responsibility is an ethical obligation of giving back to less endowed stakeholders of science, technology and innovation as well as society at large. Many scientific institutes have human resource and infrastructure to give back to society. This could be mentoring students or start-ups, he said.

New Delhi, Feb 15 : There are various new schemes in the Union Budget which would further boost the science and technology ecosystem in the country, Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan said on Monday, hailing the Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
According to the Science and Technology Ministry, the Budget 2021 includes several initiatives to promote science, technology and innovation with applications in the country.
It is a forward looking Budget to substantially boost support for R&D in the key identified areas of national priorities, it said.
