GLOVERSVILLE The Common Council Tuesday night authorized Finance Commissioner Tammie Weiterschan to make a $343,119 budget modification to purchase city buses.
The resolution approved at City Hall notes that the city Transit Department wants to purchase four buses to be reimbursed by the state Department of Transportation and/or Federal Transit Administration.
“Our expenses will be very low on that,” Weiterschan told the council.
She said one bus will cost the city nothing, as it is fully funded by DOT. The three additional buses will be funded with a 10 percent local match to be reimbursed with CARES Act funding.
