New transit buses to be purchased | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com GLOVERSVILLE The Common Council Tuesday night authorized Finance Commissioner Tammie Weiterschan to make a $343,119 budget modification to purchase city buses. The resolution approved at City Hall notes that the city Transit Department wants to purchase four buses to be reimbursed by the state Department of Transportation and/or Federal Transit Administration. “Our expenses will be very low on that,” Weiterschan told the council. She said one bus will cost the city nothing, as it is fully funded by DOT. The three additional buses will be funded with a 10 percent local match to be reimbursed with CARES Act funding.

She was born on January 20, 1975, in Gloversville. Wendy was a graduate of Johnstown High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Siena College. She was employed as a paralegal with the Casale Law Firm PLLC of Gloversville, until her untimely passing. Survivors include her son, Zachary Pedersen; her mother, Barbara Ropeter; and one sister, Michelle (David) Lewis. Wendy was predeceased by her father, Reginald Ropeter. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
