The horses moved to the back. Reporter Alameda County fire Officials Say two fires started within a mile of each other around 10 00 a. M. The larger fire burned 35 acres and came within feet of a 4 million home currently up for sale. Today the realtor stopped by to see the damage. I am really very relieved. Reporter fire crews were able to save the house and the barn that briefly caught fire. The area that started to catch fire was the shingles. They did have to go back on the roof and peel some shingles back to save the barn. Reporter firefighters braved the intense heat and moderate winds. Both fires were knocked down in less than an hour with help from crews in the sky dropping flame retardant. You could see flames right at the top.
