of care. if it s not a legal obligation, it s certainly is an ethical obligation. i m horrified. i had my grandmother pass away last year. thankfully i had her at home with wonderful care at home with me. but i cringe, i m devastated to think that someone s family member was there within just feet from someone who was medically trained to help them and because of some rule, did nothing. i think if we as a society are there and if the law protects us in that way, it s just a sad, sad day, isn t it? it feels very sad and you re right, the moral obligation alone especially for someone who is a nurse to kick in, i ll say this, the woman who died, her daughter is also a nurse and told our affiliate that she was kget, that was satisfied with the care of her mother at the glenwood gardens and there s that and also in light of this

i understand if you if your facility is not willing to do that. give the phone to that passer bye or that stranger then. this woman is not breathing enough. she s going to die if we don t get this started. the woman was transported to the hospital but later died. glenwood gardens says correct protocol was followed many. she had a do not resuscitate order. and as awful as it sounds from the outside, to hear a dispatcher begging for help, the process of signing a dnr is an emotionally grueling one, but there is a point to it. they resuscitated this woman who is almost 90 and then lived on a ventilator against her own wishes. causing a lot of discussion no doubt. right now in central florida, crews have the upper hand on a brushfire that destroyed ten homes and 14 other structures in the ocala national

happens to walk by that s willing to help i understand if your boss is telling you you can t do it. but fz there any as a human being, i don t you know is there anybody there that s willing to help this lady and not let her die? not at this time. reporter: a little more than seven minutes after glen wood gardens dialed 911, she was taken to mercy hospital southwest where she later died. we asked why the staff refused to even try to resuscitate bayless. the executive director told me it is the policy of glenwood gardens that staff does not attempt cpr. the policy is in place because it s not a nursing facility. it s an independent living facility. and there are no nurses on staff to provide assistance sean residents are made aware of this when they move into the building. yet there was a nurse on scene after bayless collapsed. he wouldn t explain that. he issued a statement that said in part, in the event of a health emergency at this independent living community,
