united states refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. he refuses to accept the will of the people. he refuses to accept the fact that he lost. he has abused his power and put the loyalty to himself before loyalty to the constitution. a typical year, we re often not faced with questions of whether the vote we cast will preserve democracy or put us at risk. but this year, we are. and the last standard bearer of the democratic party, president barack obama campaigning in arizona, the state that perhaps any other battleground state has been roiled by the big lay with election deniers on the republican side picked up on the same themes, laying out for his audience, the stakes in this election this way. i lost my first congressional race in the primary by 30 points. i got whooped. i was frustrated. that didn t feel good. you know what i didn t do? i didn t claim the election was rigged. i didn t spin conspiracy theories. i didn t instigate a mob to go up on and stor
criminal interference by the former president and his allies in the 2020 election. and then over to west palm beach, florida, the doj met the noon deadline just an hour ago to submit proposed redaction to the mar-a-lago affidavit. bruce reinhart will now begin considering the justice department suggested redactions of that affidavit. which basically lays out the government s-r reason for requesting the search in the first place. experts saying it is likely containing evidence of possible crimes that they expected to find on the property. today the former president once again said he, quote, did nothing wrong. the government vehemently opposed to the affidavit even being made public arguing that the release could, quote, cause significant and irreparable damage to an ongoing criminal investigation that is still in the early stages. the judge s deliberations are taking price in private and how much if any of the affidavit we will see is still unclear. the judge said earlier on
rights. prosecuting trump, equal rights, abortion rights. for republicans, impeaching biden, protecting our freedom and protecting the second amendment. but will the engagement translate to turnout? the poll also shows that for a nonpresidential year, people are paying an awful lot of attention when asked how interested they are in the november elections, on a scale of one to ten, 76% rated an 8, 9 or 10. and if that is sustained, it could mean a lot of folks heading to the polls. now, as for the critically important who they will vote for, no strong majority, but there is a fascinating shift we re seeing. joining me now to talk about all of this, nbc s shaquille brewster in florida ahead of tomorrow s primary. cornell belcher is a pollster at brilliant corners research and an msnbc political analyst. and steve kornacki is at the big board for us. and nbc correspondent sahil kapur is with me here on set in new york. steve, let s start with where i left off. who they will vote
