A MUCH-loved charity which has been supporting people on the South Side for almost 40 years is on the brink of closure. Glasgow Play-Resource Association’s scrapstore and craft activities are used by schools, nurseries and hundreds of city art school students, and help to save three million tonnes of material from going to landfill each year. “If we cannot find new premises soon, we will have to shut down and that would be devastating for the volunteers and our community,” explains project co-ordinator Sarah Paterson. “We don’t want to close, but our rent has increased to the point we cannot stay in our current premises and we are struggling to find anywhere affordable.
