Reducing crime trends across the Gladstone Local Government Area can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the regionâs police, the port cityâs top cop said.
Gladstone Police Inspector Darren Somerville said the command had a pleasing start to 2021 with some âvery positiveâ downward crime trends.
Significant reductions in property crime, Insp Somerville said, were a combination of proactive policing and community vigilance in securing homes and cars.
âGladstone crime stats comparing year to date with the previous year are very positive particularly regarding property crime,â he said.
âWe have seen considerable reductions across most property crime classes.
Mclean attended and walked into the room and said “let’s f -ing do this.”
He was served a letter which indicated he was on special leave.
Mclean ripped the letter from the victim’s hands and said “this is f -ing b -, you’re a f -ing idiot” and left the room.
He was told he was not allowed to access the building while he was on special leave.
Mclean walked out the door, turned around and walked towards the victim before he got in his face and pushed him back.
The victim told another person to call the police.
Mclean threw his truck and site keys and said “here is your f -ing keys” and left through the car park.

A neighbourhood dispute has landed Debbie Imelda Fletcher in court.
On October 31, police were called to a Tannum Sands address where they spoke to the victim, Fletcherâs neighbour.
The neighbour said she had been in her backyard and heard what sounded like someone spraying her fence.
The neighbour claimed Fletcher said: âdonât look at me, donât look at my yard cause Iâm not allowed to look at your f -ing yardâ and âIâll come into your backyard and smash youâ.
Fletcher yelled at the neighbour to come out the front and fight her and the neighbour asked her to stop making threats.
