SANTA ROSA, CA A man and a woman died Tuesday night in Santa Rosa in what police said was being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Officers were sent just after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday to a report that a woman had been shot at a home on Whitewood Drive in the Roseland area, Santa Rosa police Lt. Jeneane Kucker said in a news release. The reporting party believed the suspect, who also lived on the property, shot the victim during an argument, Kucker said. Upon arrival, officers were met in the driveway of the residence by two children who told them the victim was to the rear of the residence.

MALIBU, CA At a Monday night City Council meeting that saw the swearing in of three new councilmembers, 0utgoing Councilmember Jefferson Wagner announced he had provided incoming Councilmember Bruce Silverstein with an affidavit alleging several instances of City Hall corruption.
In a seven-page sworn affidavit, Wagner alleges that he was offered bribes by a vendor in exchange for voting for a contract, and that the city failed to investigate his claim of bribery; that former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa pressured him to extend City Manager Reva Feldman s contract and raise her salary, and an unexplained police raid on his home came two days after he did not; and that he has heard multiple rumors of city staff being bribed for favors and access, though he did not list any names.

California has long led the nation in environmental regulations. It was the first state to enact air pollution control policies in 1947. Then it advanced environmental regulations around emission controls, air toxins and water, paving the way for federal regulations that have protected our health for decades. ORANGE COUNTY, CA Less than nine months after the first death in Orange County due to COVID-19, the coronavirus vaccine reached a handful of medical professionals. On Wednesday, five volunteers, all employed by St. Joseph s Hospital, were the first in Orange County to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. They will each require a booster of the vaccine in 21 days, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Jeremy Zoch, Chief Executive of Providence St. Joseph in Southern California, explained the process for selecting St. Joseph Hospital as the starting off point for delivery of the new vaccine.
