The flooding. Cars were damaged. We were just told that at least a halfdozen homes were flooded as well. We went inside one such home and talked with an elderly couple. They showed us 34 feet of water sitting in their basement. It is unclear what caused the water line to rupture enablers neighbors are telling us it is happened before 2 other times. There was a tremendous amount of water flowing down the hill. We had over 3 feet of water on our street flowing like a river. We called 911 3 times and it took them 30 minutes to arrive. People on that side, their basements get flooded every time. This is the 3rd time they have been flooded. Couldve been corrosion or land movement. We dont know in the pipe started leaking. It had to of been for a while because it caused a sinkhole and what we are going to do when we clear the area and dig out the pipes, we will cut out the section that failed and take it back to our offices to analyze and see what caused it to break. Friday game night means big crowds for cal football. And for fraternity parties on the south side of campus. But this week. Many greek houses were empty and quiet. Uc berkeley icc and the council of sorority announced online they condemned the two alleged sexual assaults reported at two different frat houses within ten minutes of each other last friday. In response they are suspending all social events until they reassess safety at frat parties. It is fair to blame alcohol. Its a cultural issue that we need to deal with. And so it is for sure.
