She oversees more than 4,000 employees at nine Wegmans stores, one in Auburn and eight in Onondaga County. Gera started at Wegmans 32 years ago as a part-timer in the Auburn store. Other than a Buffalo store for a few years, her work has been in the Central New York area. She has held just about every kind of team leader or manager position imaginable in a supermarket the size of Wegmans – from the front of the store to the back rooms, from the bakery to seafood to an overall store and to being in charge of continuous improvement of customer service.
