A community-minded musician has been recognised nationally for her efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic. Lynette Beaton was recognised by the Scottish Women s Convention as part of their International Women s Day celebrations. The singer and Boogie Bugs founder was nominated for the accolade by local Amazon community champion, Gillian Maxwell, after she raised over £10,000 for the community with her singing partner, Lauren O Donoghue. Lynette, who was really chuffed to be recognised, has thanked Gillian for thinking on her. The 30-year-old said: I worked with Gillian throughout the lockdown as Amazon were helping us with our fundraising efforts, so I got to know her really well.
