An Oct. 21 letter sent to local members of the California School Employees Association said leadership failed to seek approval from members on key decisions, and also alleged that the local chapter was planning to break away from the state organization.
The union representing employees like custodians, maintenance staff and nutrition workers says many of its members make minimum wage and deserve a larger raise.
"We’re not greedy. … We’re just trying to make ends meet,” said Gilbert Bonilla Jr., whose union represents employees like maintenance workers, instructional aides and bus drivers.
