What happens in Bowser s Fury?
Unlike Super Mario 3D World, which is mostly like a 3D sidescroller, Bowser s Fury allows players to explore an open-world location similar to Super Mario Odyssey. Mario arrives to Lake Lapcat and discovers that just about everything here has cat ears, even the bushes and enemies.
Something has happened to the Koopa King, which has turned him into the giant Fury Bowser and Bowser Jr. needs your help bringing him back to normal. To do this, Mario will need to collect Cat Shines and unlock the Giga Bell, which turns him into the massive Giga Cat Mario and allows him to take on Fury Bowser.

Bundled with the enhanced port of 2013’s
Super Mario 3D World coming to the Switch on February 12,
Bowser’s Fury is an open-world side-story that pits Mario against the scariest damn Bowser ever. So far it’s the most fun I’ve had with Mario since

Best answer: The Bowser s Fury section of the remastered Super Mario 3D World + Bowser s Fury is an expansion that allows for two-player, cat-themed exploration of the new world, Lake Lapcat. Players can collect Cat Shrines, explore this feline-inspired open-world, and take on a giant Bowser. If you love Mario and cats, this game is where it s at.
Seriously, what is Bowser s Fury?
As part of Mario s 35th Anniversary, Nintendo announced some exciting new games! Originally a Wii U game, Super Mario 3D World was an expected remaster to Switch, but it s actually being released as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser s Fury. Now we want to know everything about Bowser s Fury, including what is Bowser s Fury, how is it different from the original Super Mario 3D World, and is it worth the buy?

Sunshine looms large over Bowser s Fury, the expansion that s being bundled into next month s re-release of Super Mario 3D World. It s there from the second you boot it up - which you can do at any point, as this is a standalone experience - though I can t go into specifics just yet. Rather, I can give you a small taste of this most curious of offshoots.
It could be described as something of an off-cut, as Bowser s Fury is built from repurposed assets from Super Mario 3D World - the eight way movement has been opened out a bit here but it s still paired with a sprint button and the same lack of triple jump, as well as the same suite of excellent power-ups including the Cat Suit which once again takes top-billing - but Mario s often been not so much about the building blocks but what Nintendo s designers do with them, and that s certainly the case here.

A new adventure with old rivals
One of the Wii U s best games is leaping to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser s Fury. This multiplayer Mario game comes just as you remember it along with a host of new features, including a snapshot mode and online multiplayer. The biggest change in this re-release comes from the back-half of the title Bowser s Fury.
When it was first announced, it was briefly shown during a Super Mario 3D World reveal, but no other information was given. What was it? Was it DLC? A new pack of levels? Or something else entirely? Well, Nintendo has finally cleared the air and showcased Bowser s Fury, confirming that Bowser s Fury is a totally new game mode created from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch.
